Marnie Reid

With a passion for mathematics and computer science, I bring over 6 years of dedicated teaching experience to help students unlock the fascinating world of numbers and algorithms. My most recent position involved teaching IB mathematics at Nord Anglia International School in Dublin, where I fostered an engaging, rigorous, and fun learning environment.

As a Teach For America Corps member, my teaching journey began in Baltimore, Maryland, where I ignited students’ interest in math. I also taught at my own high school in my hometown, Bend, Oregon, before transitioning to international education. During the summers, I’ve had the privilege of teaching intensive computer science courses, teaching students to construct mobile applications for iOS devices.

I believe strongly in the idea that everyone can grasp the intricacies of mathematics and find joy in working with students of all levels. My teaching philosophy revolves around cultivating a deep conceptual understanding of mathematical topics and guiding students towards those exhilarating “aha” moments when the dots connect.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Oregon, where I was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Marion Walter’s Future Teacher Award. Subsequently, I earned my Teaching Credential in Mathematics and pursued a Master’s Degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University.
