I am a seasoned high school math teacher with over 10 years of experience in the field. I most recently taught at Stamford American International School in Singapore, and previously at The American International School of Cape Town in South Africa, as well as Overfelt High School in San Jose, CA, USA. In each of these schools, I served on the Strategic Leadership Team in various roles. I also coached Varsity softball and volleyball for several years, as well as competitive travel softball for 14U and 16U teams.

My belief that anyone can learn mathematics given time, empathy, and practice has been the driving force of my career. I view math as a skill that requires consistent practice and an ability to apply its principles in new contexts and situations, similar to playing a sport. I take pride in helping my students grow their confidence and creativity in math and its applications, which is essential for their success. Through one-on-one time with an understanding teacher, students can gain vital insights that allow them to unlock their potential. It’s always gratifying to hear parents tell me that their child has gained more confidence and now enjoys math.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and subsequently obtained my Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics. I also hold a Professional Certificate in Classroom Management. Highlights of my career include being a 5-time guest speaker at San Jose State University’s Math Major Career Day, maintaining a 100% predicted score accuracy rate for AP Statistics and AP Calculus AB/BC, and connecting with students so they feel valued and confident in seeking help with math and beyond.
